The Yoshio Taniguchi designed Heisei Chishinkan wing of the Kyoto National Museum opened in 2014. The new structure was built to house and exhibit its collection of over 14,000 artworks and treasures from over 12,000 years, many of which are National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties.

Special Exhibition - Different according to exhibition

Hours : 9:30 to 17:00 / Friday and Saturday : 9:30 to 20:00 (Last entry 30 mins before closing)
Closed on Monday (Open if Monday is a national holiday, closed the following day), during year-end and new year holidays
